Hi! My name is Ketan V. Nikharge, and just like thousands of bikers out there, I like to go to far off places, the unexplored places, places where most others would never think of taking a bike like a Yamaha R15. Yes, I own a Yamaha YZF R15 at present. Photography has always been one of my best hobbies. I mean who doesn't like to capture and cherish those special moments and memories in every ride?! Touring gives me just another reason to pick up the camera and live my passion of photography! I had never thought, that ever in my life, I'll be writing travelogues of rides and sharing them with the world. All thanks to the amazing response I got to my life's first ever travelogue on www.xbhp.com . That really inspired me to go on more and more rides, click more and more pics and share the experience with like minded people.
I got the first taste of motorcycle touring when I owned a 100cc, Honda Activa - an automatic scooter, 8 years ago - in 2003. Yes, that was my first bike. My next bike was Bajaj Pulsar 200! A Black Beauty she was. It was this Pulsar that gave me the rush of speed and acceleration. I toured a lot with her before I got my current bike - Yamaha YZF R15. Motorcycling, touring, sports riding, what ever it be...it never felt better than doing it on my R15. It's this bike that helped me achieve my long awaited dreams and be recognized as "One of the Toughest Riders in the World". It's been my loyal companion in endurance rides like IBA Saddle Sore 1600K, IBA Bun Burner 2500K and recently we both got Lehe'ed as well! It was the longest and the greatest ride ever - 20 Days, 6343 Kms. A ride to the top of the world - Ladakh.
I request to all my biker brothers to please wear safety gears while riding. Even I started my biker days with least knowledge about safety gears. I used to wear helmet and no other safety gear. But I have seen the dark side of motorcycling - a Crash! And now I know the real importance of safety gears. I now know, a crash at even relatively low speeds can cause life threatening damage to the riders. India is seeing it's good days now as more and more people have started investing in at least minimum of safety gears, like helmets and a pair of gloves. But still, there are plenty of those who don't know safety gear's importance. But hey, just buying and wearing safety gears won't make you a responsible rider overnight. Please make sure you follow traffic rules and give equal importance and respect to fellow road users.
Well, enough of preaching and back to the real business. So here I am sharing my rides and experiences with you, with a hope to inspire at least a few of the readers to go traveling, explore places and meet new people. Just sit back and enjoy the logs, pictures and videos!
A little info on how to go through the site. On the Logs Page, you'll find links to my trip logs of previous rides. Some of the rides are uploaded on this site itself while some are stored on another biking forum called as "xBhp.com" . Gallery has all the pictures from my past rides, wallpapers and some general photography stuff. Newly added Videos section has videos uploaded on youtube. These are the videos, some recorded by me and some by my fellow riders, during various rides. I strongly believe in safe motorcycle riding and hence there's a separate page showing my Riding Gears.
